One-click monthly reports from live data, new links, lost and recovered, exchange balance, ROI estimate. White-label your agency's brand. Schedule auto-send to client distribution lists.
A link building report is a structured monthly document that summarizes every backlink activity for a project or client: links newly acquired, links lost and recovered, anchor text used, target URLs covered, supplier domain authority, return-link exchange balance, and estimated link-equity value. The report exists to prove ongoing value to a client (or in-house leadership) and to give the SEO team a single source of truth for the month's outcomes.
Why it matters
Without a report, link work is invisible. With one, it's a retainer-justifying deliverable that gets read and shared internally.
What it must include
New links · Live audit · Lost and recovered · Exchange balance · Supplier performance · ROI estimate · Methodology.
What it replaces
End-of-month manual data pulling · Spreadsheet copy-paste · Looker Studio retooling · 'I'll send the report Friday' promises.
Each report is built around a specific question a client, manager, or finance team asks, including what the links were worth. Pre-built means zero setup per project.

vs. Looker Studio / Databox / Spreadsheets
Purpose-built beats general-purpose every Friday
Looker and Databox are powerful, but every chart is your problem, which is the same trade as a spreadsheet versus a CRM. LinkSwapy ships with link-building reports already wired to live data.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Everything teams ask before moving client reporting into one tool.
What is a link building report?
A link building report is a structured monthly document that summarizes every backlink activity for a project or client: links newly acquired, links lost and recovered, anchor text used, target URLs covered, supplier domain authority, return-link exchange balance, and estimated link-equity value. The report exists to prove ongoing value to a client (or to in-house leadership) and to give the SEO team a single source of truth for the month's outcomes.
Can I white-label the report with my agency's branding?
Yes, on Agency and Scale plans. Upload your logo, set your accent color, add your contact block, and choose a header / footer template. The exported PDF and shareable web view show your brand throughout. Clients see your agency, not LinkSwapy.
What format are exports available in?
CSV is available on every plan for raw data export. Branded PDF and shareable web links are on Agency / Scale. Google Sheets export and embeddable iframe widgets are on the roadmap. Every report is also viewable in-app as a live dashboard that updates as monitoring runs.
Can reports be scheduled and auto-sent to clients?
Yes. Set a monthly cadence per project (typically first of the month). The report auto-generates from live data, renders to PDF if you're on Agency / Scale, and emails to the client distribution list you configure. Optional Slack notification with a link.
How does LinkSwapy calculate the ROI estimate?
The ROI estimate uses a transparent formula: (supplier DR × traffic-volume multiplier × dofollow weight) summed across every link delivered in the period, compared against the cost benchmark for paid placements at similar DR. The full methodology is shown in the report appendix so clients can audit the number.
Can I customize which sections appear in the report?
Yes. Each report is a stack of sections (KPIs, new links, lost and recovered, exchange balance, supplier performance, ROI estimate, methodology). Toggle sections on/off per project. Agency / Scale plans let you build custom section templates with your own copy.
What's in the 'New Links' section?
Every link acquired this period as a table: supplier domain, source URL, target URL, anchor text, deal type, DR, traffic, published date, current status, and (if applicable) exchange-pair link. Sortable by any column. Clients can verify each link in one click.
Does the report show losses honestly?
Yes, and that's its strength. The Lost and Recovered section shows every link that broke in the period and whether it was recovered. Hiding losses just delays a hard client conversation. Showing them in context (lost: 12 · recovered: 7 · still lost: 5 · net: -5) reframes recovery as part of the value you deliver.
Can multiple agency clients have different report templates?
Yes. Each project has its own report template config. One client might want only KPIs and new links; another might want the full ROI breakdown with methodology. Configure once per project; the schedule respects each template's setup.
How does LinkSwapy compare to Looker Studio / Databox for SEO reporting?
Looker Studio and Databox are general-purpose dashboards, powerful, but require manual setup of every chart, every data source, every connection. LinkSwapy's reports are pre-built for link-building specifically: every metric is already wired to your live data (deals, suppliers, monitoring, balance), so a client report is 30 seconds, not 30 hours.
